The choices can be overwhelming, the solutions can be controversial and the information seems to constantly change. There may be no perfect "green" product but the lack of "perfect" solutions shouldn’t prevent us from giving serious consideration to what we use for materials, how we make buying decisions and how we dispose of our waste. At kaia, we don’t just think about natural, mild, safe and effective ingredients we can use to make our products. We place equal importance on what NOT to put in them. You won't find any hidden "toxics" like parabens, sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate, phthalates, colourants and synthetic fragrances. We are working towards an all natural preservative system. For those ingredients not yet available, we chose to use food grade preservatives. Product testing is extensive but never, ever involves animals. When kaia considers packaging, looking for materials that can be reused or recycled is important. Eventually, when current industry contamination issues are resolved, our goal is to manufacture our containers entirely from recycled or natural materials. It is all part of our ongoing journey towards better choices. |
